On the occasion of their 50th anniversary the Félag íslenskra tryggingastærðfræðinga (FIT) will be hosting the meetings of the Insurance Committee and the Standard, Freedoms and Professionalism Committee in Reykjavik, Iceland on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 May 2017, respectively.

In addition the Icelandic Actuarial Association will organize two seminars on Wednesday 10 May 2017. AAE delegates are invited to attend both seminars at no additional cost.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Félag íslenskra tryggingastærðfræðinga (FIT) a dinner evening will be organised on Thursday 11 May 2017. All AAE delegates and accompanying persons are invited to attend this dinner evening, which will take place in one of Iceland’s greatest and distinguished landmarks, the Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre.

Wednesday 10 May 2017

08.30-10.00  Seminar “ Pensions in Europe” organized by Félag íslenskra tryggingastærðfræðinga. The program will focus on Pensions, addressing the new pension directive (IORP 2), pension adequacy and sustainability, ageing and the EIOPA Pensions Stress Test 2017 The draft program is attached for your information. Confirmed speaker is Falco Valkenburg, chairperson of the AAE Pensions Committee. The seminar will be open for members of the Icelandic Actuarial Association, AAE delegates and stakeholders of the Icelandic financial services industry. Attendance for AAE delegates is without cost.
10.30-14.30 Seminar “The challenges for European Actuaries” The program will focus on a range of topics including a presentation of the AAE organisation and their links to stakeholders. The draft program is attached for yourinformation. The seminar will be open for members of the Icelandic Actuarial Association, AAE delegates and leaders in the Icelandic financial services industry. Attendance for AAE delegates is without cost.

09.00- 17.00 Insurance Committee meeting
19.00- 22.00 50th Anniversary celebration dinner at Harpa. With special guest: Iceland’s Minister of Finance, Benedikt Jóhannesson.There will be no additional costs for AAE delegates and their accompanying persons.

Friday 12 May 2017

08.30- 09.30 Presentation to the AAE from Félag íslenskra tryggingastærðfræðinga. Bjarni Guðmundsson – full member of FIT - will address the Pensions in Iceland and Ásgeir Jónsson – Economics Professor at the University of Iceland - will speak about ‘How did Iceland survive the crisis’.
09.30-17.00 Standards, Freedoms and Professionalism Committee meeting

Our Icelandic colleagues will organize an excursion on Saturday 13 May 2017 (approx. from 9am to 5pm, including lunch). The fee for this excursion (see attachment) will be EUR 185.
